Taz was diagnosed with diabetes last year, and is now a regular visitor to Gateshead PDSA PetAid hospital. Recalling the start of his illness, Sandra says: When Taz started to vomit, I thought he just had a tummy bug, but then he started drinking far more water than usual. I was very worried so took him to PDSA where he was diagnosed with diabetes.
Taz needs insulin injections twice a day and regular set meals to maintain his blood sugar levels. Sandra would also need to bring him into the PetAid hospital every four to six weeks for blood tests to monitor his condition.
PDSA vets are keeping a close eye on Tazs condition to make sure his medication is properly balanced.
